As an agent of major chemical manufacturers in Japan and overseas, we handle a wide range of products from general-purpose resins to engineering plastics and thermosetting resins, meeting the needs of various industries such as automobiles, home appliances, and housing equipment.
We also have a resin molding and resin compound plant, which not only functions as a trading company, but also focuses on manufacturing.
In recent years, we have been focusing on handling environmentally friendly products in a wide range of areas, including responding to the electrification of automobiles, bio-resins, bio-products, and recycled resins, with the aim of creating a sustainable society for the new era together with our business partners.

Environmental materials

n the synthetic resin industry, which uses petrochemical raw materials, consideration for the environmental burden is becoming more and more important every year, and the need for recycling and bio resins is increasing. Okaya’s Checmical department, which mainly handles conventional petrochemical resins, is also working on eco-products that meet new needs. In particular, the Thai Okaya has been one of the first to achieve results. Thailand has one of the most advanced petrochemical industries in the ASEAN region, making it easy to secure recycled resins. It is also active in the cultivation of grain, a raw material for bio-resins. Against this background in terms of raw materials, we have discovered products unique to the Thai Okaya, approached users in ASEAN countries mainly in Thailand, and launched sales to industries such as automobiles, home appliances, packaging materials, and distribution materials.

Compound Company

SIAM OKAYA CHEMICAL CO., LTD. (SOC), a group company, is engaged in the compounding of resin in Thailand. At present, it is applicable to coloring and property adjustment of engineering plastics for automobile applications. Our main operations are OEM acceptance of entrustment from major chemical manufacturers, but in recent years we have also been involved in the development of our own products. Although it is a trading company, we demonstrate the strength of having a resin compound company, and proposes the most suitable goods and services to customers.

The automobile industry is facing a major transformation once every 100 years. We are making all-round efforts to promote electrification. With the shift from internal combustion engines to HEVs, PHEVs, BEVs, and FCVs, batteries, motors, inverters, and other components are being installed, and we expect an increase in the number of ECUs and other electric-related components. The need for insulation, heat insulation, thermal conductivity, weight reduction, and noise reduction has increased as a result of electrification. All of these are related to resins, so we will build strong relationships with our partner material manufacturers and propose optimal materials. In particular, with regard to weight reduction, we will focus on replacing metals with plastics and work with customers from the design stage to build our business. In addition to proposing materials, we also provide parts, mainly mechanical parts, in cooperation with processing manufacturers with technological capabilities.
